Cheetah Robot runs 28.3 mph; a bit faster than Usain Bolt

Ok, so it's faster than Usain, but who would you rather running after you? lol.

Cheetah Robot is a fast-running quadruped developed by Boston Dynamics with funding from DARPA. It just blazed past its previous speed record, getting up to 28.3 mph, about 0.5 mph faster than Usain Bolt's fastest 20 meter split. This version of the Cheetah Robot runs on a treadmill with offboard power. Testing on an untethered outdoor version starts early next year.

Mean Tweets - NFL Edition

Yay! “Mean Tweets” is back and this time it’s not with famous actors but the NFL players! NFL players might be tough and are used to getting mean remarks on the fields but what’s it like for them when they read mean tweets about themselves by not-so-nice fans…
NFL players seem to be tough, but they’re also human. Sometimes sports fans lose sight of that. In the old days, you’d yell things at players on the field, now we post nasty comments on twitter. We collected some of those nasty comments and put them all together for a special NFL edition of Mean Tweets featuring Terrell Owens, Dwight Freeney, DeSean Jackson, Dashon Goldson, Dez Bryant, Keyshawn Johnson, Michael Strahan, Brandon Marshall, Steve Smith, Terrell Suggs, Erin Andrews, Ike Taylor, Vernon Davis, Clay Matthews and Malcolm Smith.

Interesting Photos of Animals in the Womb (28 Photos)

We’ve all seen what human babies look like in the womb, well, most of us anyways but have you ever wondered what animals looked like in the womb?

The  amazing embryonic images of unborn animals are said not to be exactly real but rather were created for a National Geographic documentary combining the use of dimensional ultrasound scans, tiny cameras and computer graphics.

1. Dolphin

Baby dolphins are born with whiskers on their upper jaw, this calf will be in its mothers womb for up to 12 months and will spend months, even years, swimming close to mum before becoming independent.

Another “Victim” of Synthol (16 Photos)

So you want bigger muscles you say? Don’t want to gain it the hard and old fashion way of prolong and dedicated workouts – with good protein shakes? Maybe you’d rather take some of that Synthol, the “site enhancement oil” which some bodybuilders use to mimic the appearance of developed muscle where it may otherwise be disproportionate or lagging, also known as “fluffing”.

Well, if you do, be prepared to look like this Iraqi body builder who is said to use both Synthol AND steroids!

This day in history, September 1st, marks many events. The start of World War II was one of the most defining of the 20th century and although coloured photography was almost unheard of at the time, a small series were captured between 1939 and 1945 which offered an alternatively amazing perspective of the conflict such as the first image below of the first United States infantryment approaching Omaha Beach in France, as part of the D-Day landings.
