The New York Corner Shop Art Installation - where EVERYTHING is made out of FELT (14 Photos + Video)

Stepping into your average-looking American corner store where everything you see is made entirely out of felt - from the newspaper being read right down to the gums and candies lined on the shelves behind the counter, would be a most unique experience onto itself. We'd be squeezing everything in sight!

Digestive biscuits, Bisto, Red Stripe, KY Jelly and Men’s Health magazine ... Lucy Sparrow has stuffed and stitched them all for her installation The Cornershop. Funded by Kickstarter, the shop contains nearly 2,000 classic groceries; and they’re all for sale.

Lucy Sparrow hails from Bath, in the West Country of England and works mainly in felt to create art that evokes delight and emotional responses from nearly everyone who sees it. Her world is very much about being able to touch and feel the work she produces and to bring people closer to her creations.

The artist built a similar corner shop in London’s East End filled entirely with 4,000 hand-sewn groceries and decided to bring the installation to America.
